The project
Coil is the sister venue to Rumbler, Windsor's vinyl-focused listening bar. Where Rumbler leans intimate and analogue, Coil is designed for movement — low ceilings, controlled lighting and tinted windows cut off the outside world for a fully internal, immersive experience. The fitout demanded exacting acoustic treatment to house Australia's first installation of Tom Danley Synergy Horns, integrated bespoke lighting by FOS Lighting, and a moody, material-led interior of exposed concrete, blackened steel and tiled finishes. 2B coordinated the architect, acoustic engineer, lighting designer and specialist trades to deliver a 175-capacity venue on Chapel Street that opened to broad critical press.
